Little
Shannon girl had a tough go at it before coming to ARF, so please
give her a warm cyber-hello. We got Shannon with minimal
hair from an allergy. We assume that she was a dog that was
just tied up all the time and never given any attention. Her
physical presence and behavior displayed as such. Initially,
Shannon was fearful of everyone. Shannon since then has grown her
complete hair back and is gaining the TLC that she so lacked prior
to her coming to ARF.
Shannon is a
young, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Mix, a rather uncommon
breed. She's a small girl of about 45 lbs or so. This
sweetie has come a long way since we started working with her, but
she still needs the support and TLC of her human friends. We
are looking for someone committed to taking the time with this
deserving girl to see her through her life.
Shannon is good with other dogs, and has human friends where
she is staying! She comes to her new human friends, and likes them
very much -- she continues to gain more confidence around
new people she meets.
Due
to her lonely past, Shannon was never taken on walks. Therefore
she is fearful of being on a leash and she pulls. This too is
something we are working on with her. Some progress has been made,
but she continue to need leash training. Her new family should
be patient with her, and provide training and TLC to bring
this lovely girl to blossom --as she has shown us so far!
