Ernie-adopted!

Meet Ernie, a "sweet and petite" Golden Retriever Mix (possibly with Spaniel). This little guy is such a joy to be around, and would make a superb addition to any person or family's home that wants a nice, well mannered dog to love and enjoy. And if you are also looking for a smaller Golden Retriever like dog, you get an added bonus!  Woo-Hoo!

Ernie is a young dog and small in size.  Partially due to being slightly underweight which we are working on, as well as just being small.  He'd be a great dog for someone without a whole lot of space as in a small backyard, or condo or townhouse living.  At most he'll weigh about 40 lbs when he adds the few extra "pounds" he needs.

Ernie has the cutest, most appealing face -- one that people are just drawn to.  And speaking of people, Ernie enjoys attention from anyone!  It appears as though Ernie could do well with slightly younger kids too!  He loves to be stroked and hugged.  Even though he came from the shelter -- how he got there we don't know, an influence in his past life made him a very nice little boy, and it appears as if he's had some leash training too.  Ernie would be best with a family that is home more of the time, or works from home.  He would make an ideal companion dog to shadow you around and be comfortable in your lap.

We are unsure how he'd do around cats but his sweet temperament would make us believe he is worth a try with one (if you have any cats, that is.)
