If the dog you are searching for
needs to have a larger than life personality, and just be an all
around COOL dog, read on about our new boy Chuckie, a young
Labrador/Shepherd mix.
Chuckie has it going on! Yes, he
is a Lab mix with Shepherd markings on his face and subtle ones on
his body, but gosh this boy is neat.
For starters Chuckie always has a
huge smile on his face. He fixates on you when approached and he
loves to play and run. From what we can tell so far he also loves
the water. Nothing gets this boy down!
In his past life before coming
into rescue, Chuckie could have sunk real low at the shelter where
he spent 2 months waiting for a new family. But he didn't. Every day
he pulled himself up by the bootstraps winning over the employees.
He won their hearts so much he managed to stay alive in a high kill
LA shelter. That speaks volumes for his temperament. Chuckie also
happily shared a kennel run with other dogs too.
Here at ARF we too have observed
how well Chuckie has done with other dogs. We have also observed
that he has some manners to him. When the time comes for play he's
excited, ready and willing. Just minutes into jogging, tennis ball
or just palling around and he's in his g-r-o-o-v-e. Of course taking
a new dog to obedience training is always a good idea but with
Chuckie, you'll have a head start.
We see Chuckie fitting into a
family with kids 10-12 and up. He is a tall, large, active dog you
see, and although he is very sweet, his size (75 lbs or so) could be
intimidating to young kids. We also see Chuckie most happy with an
active family -- one that likes to camp or hike, or tossing the ball
to him in the backyard. Also, because he is young it would be nice
if his new family had someone home often. Another canine companion
would be a bonus too!
So if what we know about Chuckie
has won you over (like he's done for us) then tell us more about yourself.
Adopted January 2007!
